OPEN CALL OPPORTUNITY FOR ARTISTS
Volya: A Cultural Exhibition and Silent Auction to Benefit Ukraine

The silent auction event, co-organized by DORF and Austin Texas Ukrainians, hosts 25+ artists for a silent auction and celebration of Ukrainian culture with participatory activities for individuals and families throughout the day!

Event Date: Saturday, May 14, 2022, 2:00–10:00 pm (CST)
Silent Auction: Wednesday, May 11, 2022 live at 12:00 pm through Saturday, May 14, 2022 9:00 pm sharp.
Help us raise awareness and aid for the Ukrainian people through a collaboration with our Ukrainian/Austin neighbors. This is a great opportunity to gather, learn more about the beauty of Ukrainian culture, and send support to trusted aid organizations working around the clock in Ukraine all while providing artists and art lovers an opportunity to collect art for a good cause. 

TO APPLY:

DORF announces an open call for artists to submit work to help benefit Voices of Children and Revived Soldiers Ukraine. Proceeds are divided 50% to these aid organizations; 40% to the artist (with the option to donate a larger percentage of proceeds to the organizations); 10% to the DORF Artist Stipend Fund (which distributed over $18K in funding in 2021 to DORF artists). If selected, shipping or delivery of work will be the responsibility of the artist. 

The value assigned to the artwork in your application is up to you –  the higher the value, the more we can help children and soldiers suffering in Ukraine. Thank you!

HOW IT WORKS:

Bidding will occur virtually and in-person through the auction platform Betterworld located here (no registration required): bit.ly/VOLYA-AUCTION-DORF

Artworks in the silent auction will be presented in the DORF gallery space and bidding will take place beginning Thursday, May 11, 2022 at 12:00 pm, and ending on Saturday, May 14, 2022 at 9:00 pm sharp.

All participating artists are invited to be our guests of honor at the May 14, 2022, event and to help us spread the word through your own communities and social/family channels. The wider we share the word through our community, the bigger the response and funds we can raise for Voices of Children and Revived Soldiers Ukraine.

SHIPPING / DELIVERY:

Shipping fulfillment or delivery is the responsibility of the artist. The winning bidder will be charged for shipping and DORF will reimburse the artist for the cost of domestic flat rate or ground shipping. Please contact us with any concerns. 

International shipping will carry an additional fee, and international transactions may be held pending shipping quotes. Once work is purchased, the winning bidder will receive an update with a donation receipt and tracking information. 

DORF will facilitate local pick-ups with winning bidders. All bids are final and there are no refunds.

April 15, 2022 – Artist selections finalized, applicants notified
April 18, 2022 – Press release goes out
May 5–8, 2022 – Artwork receiving
May 9, 2022 – Artwork Installation
May 11, 2022 – Silent Auction opens
May 14, 2022 – Silent Auction and Ukrainian Cultural Exhibition
May 15, 2022 – Arrange artwork pick up/artist ships work to winning bidder
